OnePlus Introduces The Nord 2T, Nord CE 2 Lite, And The Nord Buds

Electronics manufacturer OnePlus presented two new smartphones at an online event: the Nord 2T and the Nord CE 2 Lite. The Nord Buds are the first in-ear headphones in the Nord series to hit the market.

OnePlus Nord 2T: Nord 2 With More Power And Glass Back

The OnePlus Nord 2T continues the so-called “T series” trend that OnePlus recently released with the OnePlus 8T. The manufacturer does not use them in the “number series” but in the Nord series, available from 2020. So instead of a OnePlus Nord 3 this summer, we see a OnePlus Nord 2T that promises improvements.

The main changes are in the processor, loading, and software. The successor to the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI, also installed in the Nord 2, is used as the SoC. The Dimensity 1300 has received minimal changes in the GPU area, also illustrated in our detailed test report.

Another change was in the fast store. Instead of Warp-Charge 65T, the “Super VOOC 80W” known from the OnePlus 10 Pro is now used, which is supposed to charge the 4500 mAh even faster than before.

The third big change is in terms of software. OxygenOS 12.1, based on Google’s Android 12, is preinstalled. The manufacturer again promises two major OS upgrades and three years of security patches. The rest of the hardware is identical to the Nord 2.

The Nord 2T has the same 6.43-inch small Full HD AMOLED display with 90 Hertz, the same three cameras on the back (50 megapixels + 8 + 2), and an identical 32-megapixel front camera.

The OnePlus Nord 2T is available with 8 or 12 gigabytes of RAM, with 128 or 256 gigabytes of internal memory. OnePlus offers “Grey Shadow” (black, matte back) or “Jade Fog” (light green, glossy back) as colours.

The device starts at 399 euros, and customers pay 499 euros for more memory. The Nord 2 will still be available, but now at a reduced price of 349 euros. You can pre-order now. The official market launch is May 24.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite: Realme 9 5G In A New Guise?

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is the cheapest OnePlus device yet, but it bears little resemblance to the “OnePlus” that many may be familiar with. It’s almost identical on paper to the recently released Realme 9 5G, managed by the same parent company.

The device has a 6.59 LCD with a refresh rate of 120 Hertz and Full HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 695 is used as the processor, with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal memory. This can be expanded using an SD card.

The frame and housing are made of plastic. In addition, the device still has a 3.5 mm jack and a mono speaker. With 5000 mAh, the battery is relatively large and can be charged with a maximum of 33 watts via USB-C.

Unlike the Realme 9 5G, the main camera has a resolution of 64 megapixels, but the 2-megapixel camera for mono and the third sensor for macro are identical. The device also runs Android 12 and gets two OS and three years of security updates. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is available in Blue Tide and Black Dusk colours for €299 (May 24).

OnePlus Nord Buds: Small TWS With 30 Hours Of Battery Life

In addition to the new Nord smartphones, OnePlus also introduced new True Wireless Stereo (TWS) in-ear headphones, the first in the Nord series. The Nord Buds are equipped with a 12.4mm driver supporting Dolby Atmos.

The TWS has four microphones for calls and IP55 water and dust certification. According to the manufacturer, a charge lasts for 7 hours, with the case a maximum of 30 hours. The TWS is connected via Bluetooth 5.2. The Nord Buds are only available in the colour Black Slate for 49 euros. The market launch is also on May 24.
