The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max succeeded the iPhone XS and XS Max. Here is a summary of the commonalities and differences between the two new versions.
Apple’s two new top-of-the-range iPhones have many features in common, starting with the same level of power delivered by the in-house A13 chip. Both are therefore also reactive to carry out several background tasks simultaneously.
The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max also have the same efficient triple photo module – consisting of an ultra-wide-angle sensor, a wide-angle and a telephoto lens – which offers many shooting possibilities.
Let us now list their differences. The iPhone 11 Pro offers an Oled screen of 5.8 inches against 6.5 inches for the Pro Max model. The latter is, therefore, higher (+1.4 cm) and wider (+ 6.4 mm) than the smaller model. Naturally, it is also heavier: 226g against 188g.
The iPhone 11 Pro could thus more easily appeal to users in search of a “go-anywhere” smartphone, which fits easily into a pocket. The 11 Pro Max will appeal to those who use their phones a lot for work, games and watching movies and are therefore looking for a very large screen.
Another difference between the two models: autonomy. Apple has made efforts to ensure that its two new iPhone 11 Pro delivers longer battery life than its previous smartphones. A good thing, because the competition was far ahead on this precise point. In fact, the iPhone 11 Pro, which we tested, is indeed more enduring than the iPhone XS. With sustained use, it has sufficient autonomy to pass the 24-hour mark without difficulty.
Taking advantage of a larger capacity battery, the Max version does better. On average, Apple announces a longer battery life of one hour than that of the 11 Pro model. Both also benefit from faster charging times thanks to the new 18W AC adapter (5W for older models). Allow 1h45 to fully charge the iPhone 11 Pro, against a little more than 3h for its predecessor.
The most “addicted” to their smartphone users may therefore prefer the iPhone 11 Pro Max for its long endurance.
Finally, the ultimate differentiating element between these two models: the price. If both are available in 64, 256 and 512 GB, their prices are of course not the same. The new iPhone 11 Pro is available from Rs. 96,900/- in its 64 GB version (Rs. 1,07,100/- for the Pro Max).
To lower the rating, it is possible to obtain a purchase credit by having Apple take back your old device, via its Apple Trade-In service.
