There could be another fundamental technology change in this context, as we have seen for years in the form of the SIM card. However, it is not yet clear whether this project will be successful in the foreseeable future.
How essential the SIM card has become in our everyday life can easily be seen from the sheer number of pieces. The small and so inconspicuous card has become an indispensable part of our daily life.
